Job summary

CyberCoders is seeking a Director of Operations to lead and optimize our construction and mechanical services operations. You will oversee budgets, schedules, and cross-functional teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within margin targets, while driving continuous improvement and Lean initiatives.

The role requires strong leadership, ERP proficiency, and deep knowledge of HSE and risk management, with an emphasis on strategic planning and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years operations experience with 5+ in a senior leadership role in construction/mechanical services.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting, and margin optimization experience.
  • Experience with ERP, PM tools, and Lean/continuous improvement.
  • Knowledge of HSE regulations and risk management in construction/mechanical environments.

Director of Operations

The Director of Operations will lead and optimize the companys operational functions to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of construction and mechanical projects. This role is responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, team leadership, process improvement, and cross-functional coordination to meet business objectives, maintain compliance, and drive continuous operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute operational strategies that align with company goals and support growth in construction and mechanical services.
  • Lead, mentor, and manage operations teams including project managers, site supervisors, and maintenance staff to ensure high performance and accountability.
  • Oversee annual and project-level budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and financial performance analysis to meet margin and revenue targets.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate multiple construction and mechanical projects to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while maintaining quality standards.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs, operational metrics, and reporting systems to measure performance, identify risks, and drive improvements.
  • Implement and enforce health, safety, and environmental policies; ensure regulatory compliance and best practices across job sites and facilities.
  • Optimize procurement, supply chain, and vendor management processes to improve lead times, reduce costs, and secure reliable subcontractor performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, standard operating procedures, and operational efficiencies through Lean principles and technology adoption.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on business development, client relations, contract negotiations, and strategic partnerships.
  • Manage emergency response and contingency planning for operational disruptions, equipment failures, and site incidents.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive operations experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or director-level role within construction, mechanical services, or similar industries.
  • Proven budgeting and financial management skills, including experience with project estimating, forecasting, and margin optimization.
  • Strong mechanical and technical knowledge relevant to construction, HVAC, piping, or industrial systems preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large, multi-project portfolios and coordinating cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, ERP systems, and operational reporting; experience implementing process improvements and Lean methodologies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HSE regulations, quality assurance, and risk management in construction and mechanical environments.
