icon Mechanical is seeking an Operations Director to lead the Operations team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of mechanical construction leadership, capable of directing multiple PM teams and ensuring profitable, safe, on-time project delivery.

You will oversee project Directors and Managers, manage budgeting and cash flow, and partner with field operations to align schedules, procurement, and engineering across a diverse portfolio.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical construction project management and operations.
• Experience leading large, complex construction projects and managing multiple project teams.
• Strong knowledge of project financial management, forecasting, cost control, and risk management.
• Understanding of scheduling, procurement, engineering, VDC, fabrication, field operations, and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop assigned project management teams.
• Maintain visibility into financial performance, schedules, staffing, risk, and customer relationships.
• Hold teams accountable for forecasting, cost control, margin, cash flow, and reporting.
• Review forecasts, cost reports, labor performance, and contingency; develop corrective actions.
• Ensure execution plans cover schedule, procurement, engineering, fabrication, subcontractors, commissioning, and closeout.
• Collaborate with Field Operations to align schedules and manpower with execution needs.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, standardization, and technology adoption.
