General Summary

Responsible for driving operational excellence in our manufacturing facilities by managing our quality systems and enabling continuous improvement throughout all facilities. Conduit between our customers and our manufacturing sites by leading our order management teams and monitoring the voice of the customer. Lead in leveraging data analytics to direct process improvement activities that align with enterprise strategy and drive the right value to the organization.

Pay and Pay Class

Pay Class; Full Time and Remote

Pay: $129,332.40 - $172,442.85

Essential Functions

Responsible for delivering quality product, on-time, while keeping our lab technical systems calibrated and running in four distinct optical labs within the United States.

Responsible for the Unity Enabled Lab quality testing processes.

Develop and maintain a multi-year roadmap that identifies operational improvements to deliver EBITDA, productivity, cycle time and quality goals by year.

Identify and drive large capital projects to optimize manufacturing and delivery processes across all facilities.

Lead direct reports at multiple facilities, along with a cross functional group of indirect reports dedicated to the changing shape of the organization.

Ownership in developing structure of a cross functional group of managers, supervisors, leads and other individual contributors to drive Kaizen continuous improvement programs. Run periodic process to recruit and train members.

Through partnership with Site Directors, drive a culture of innovation by building and implementing initiatives that build ground level skills, communication, and recognition to ignite the collective skills of all associates.

Own Quality Management Systems that ensure quality standards for all manufacturing facilities are consistent and compliant with 21 CFR 820.

Attend facility quality audits and implement corrections as necessary to ensure compliance across all governing bodies.

Leverage VOC across all lines of businesses and order management.

Job Specifications

Typically has the following skills or abilities:

Bachelor’s degree of science or engineering focused on chemical, mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering, master’s preferred or a related field or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in functional area

Minimum of 6 years of management experience with responsibilities for hiring, training, assigning work and managing performance of direct reports

Experience in a complex matrix organization supporting multiple facilities required

Exceptional problem-solving abilities to drive root cause solutions that deliver with financial acumen

Ability to read and interpret compliance documents and translate to practical, effective procedures required

Manage complex projects where independent action, high degree of initiative and coordination across departments is required

Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation, presentation, and strategic skills

Current understanding of automated systems, data, and technology

Experience working with external customers or industry partners and leaders to accomplish objectives and foster constructive and collaborative relationships

Experience in implementing significant process and system changes.

Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to manage teams and develop people required

Strong interpersonal skills

Ability to regularly exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of his/her job duties
