Job summary

Berkadia is seeking a Director – Lending Insurance Risk to advise underwriting, mortgage banking and closing teams on complex insurance matters across multifamily lending. The role provides guidance on coverage structure, agency compliance and risk-transfer strategies in a consultative, high-complexity environment.

You will partner with underwriting, closing, legal and loan servicing to resolve escalated issues, develop internal guidance, and stay current on agency requirements; 8–15+ years CRE

Qualifications

• 8–15+ years of progressively responsible CRE insurance/risk management experience.
• Significant experience evaluating CRE insurance programs for multifamily or CRE assets.
• Experience advising senior stakeholders on complex insurance risk, coverage and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Advise underwriting on insurance risk decisions for multifamily and CRE loans.
• Assess coverage structures, deductibles and endorsements for lending transactions.
• Interpret agency requirements from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and others.
• Provide practical guidance to borrowers and deal teams on complex insurance needs.
• Lead resolution of escalated insurance issues and compliance questions.
• Collaborate with underwriting, mortgage banking, closing, legal and loan servicing.
