Job summary

Natera, a global leader in cfDNA testing, seeks a Senior Director of Laboratory Operations in California. This role oversees clinical laboratory and operations, ensuring compliance with CAP/CLIA and state regulations while delivering high-quality service.

The position requires extensive leadership of high‑complexity testing, process improvements, and strategic collaboration with senior leadership to guide long‑term plans and improve turnaround times for patient testing.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a biological science; MS preferred.
• California CLS or CGMBS license preferred.
• 10+ years in laboratory administration or related field.
• 5+ years of management & leadership experience.
• 5+ years of high-complexity-testing, high-volume lab operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop policies, procedures, and performance standards to ensure efficiency and quality.
• Oversee all clinical and technical functions of laboratory, including day-to-day production, equipment and reagent qualification, and training.
• Lead trouble-shooting teams to address urgent issues.
• Ensure efficient use of resources and personnel within laboratory.
• Lead process improvements and oversee new product launches.
• Organize training and development programs for laboratory staff and support teams.
• Work with senior leadership to execute on short and long-term strategy.
• Recruit, retain, train, and develop employees and conduct performance management.
