Job summary

Natera is seeking a Staff Scientist to advance cfDNA assay development in a regulated environment. You will lead projects, design and execute development workflows, and work with teams across R&D, QA, and Product Management to deliver robust molecular tests.

The position requires advanced molecular biology expertise, experience with NGS and automation, and strong communication skills to document findings and guide junior staff. California-based, on-site role with competitive total rewards.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree or equivalent with relevant lab experience in cfDNA or molecular biology.
• Experience in CLIA-regulated assay development and validation.
• Experience with high-throughput NGS workflows and genetic testing.
• Experience automating molecular workflows and transferring assays to automated platforms.
• Experience managing projects and direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical projects and timelines within the assay development group.
• Plan and execute feasibility, development, verification and validation studies under design control.
• Collaborate with research scientists, automation engineers, biostatisticians, and data scientists.
• Document and communicate experimental data and recommendations to multiple stakeholders.
• May manage Scientists or Research Associates.
