Job summary

FTI Consulting’s Corporate Finance & Restructuring and Real Estate Solutions teams are seeking a senior accounting professional to lead monthly close, GAAP reporting, and complex securitizations for real estate portfolios. You will prepare statements, advise on accounting elections, and coordinate with auditors, tax teams and client staff to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The role requires 8+ years in GAAP accounting, strong Excel/Word skills, and a CPA (preferred).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or similar field.
• 8+ years of GAAP accounting experience for mortgage loans, debt/equity securities and derivatives.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in month/quarter/annual closings for US GAAP financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Review and assist with monthly accounting packages for portfolios including mortgage loans and real estate assets.
• Oversee preparation and review of financial statements and footnote disclosures.
• Advise clients on accounting elections and document GAAP positions.
• Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting and compliance with agreements.
• Assist auditors and tax teams; interact with client staff and third-party providers.
