Job summary

FTI Consulting is seeking a Senior Consultant in Atlanta to join our Investment Administration and Reporting practice. You will interact directly with client management, develop and maintain financial reporting work papers, post journal entries, and support general ledgers under US GAAP.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel/Word, and familiarity with SEC reporting. Remote work is available with occasional travel to clients and FTI offices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting (required).
• 3+ years of accounting and financial reporting experience.

• Proficiency in month/quarter/annual closings for US GAAP financial statements.

Responsibilities

• Perform month and/or quarter end close, including updates of monthly workbook and financial statement variance analysis, prepare and post journal entries.
• Review client books and records, prepare bank and other account reconciliations.
• Determine the accuracy of accounts and propose/post adjusting journal entries and prepare supporting work papers.
• Assist in preparation of financial statements, footnotes and management reports (Form 10-K, 10-Q, earnings releases).
• Assist in preparation of Partner Capital Statements and notices.
• Validate financial information maintained by third party service providers.
• Potential involvement in ad hoc accounting projects (IPO, forensic investigations, etc.).

FTI’s Investment Administration and Reporting subpractice in Real Estate Solutions offering has a primary focus on the real estate and finance industry and the capital markets that serve it. Our services are designed to create integrated financial and tax solutions for clients. We provide an unsurpassed range of real estate advisory services including merger and acquisitions, due diligence, valuation, lease consulting, forensic accounting, financial outsourcing, IPO preparation, real estate and REIT tax structuring and compliance, executive compensation, master planning and development services, cost segregation and private client services. We represent leading public and private real estate entities including equity and mortgage REITs, financial institutions, investment banks, opportunity funds, insurance companies, hedge funds, pension advisors and owners/developers.

What You’ll Do

We provide outsourced accounting services to public and private companies, including REITs, mortgage finance companies, real estate private equity funds, developers, and operators. The senior consultant will interact directly with clients, including their management as well as supervisors. The senior consultant will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial reporting support work papers, preparing and posting journal entries, and maintaining and updating the client’s general ledgers and adjusted trial balances. The position requires that you be an assertive self-starter and a proactive problem solver. Responsiveness to client deadlines (for both financial statements and special projects) is essential. The candidate should possess strong accounting skills including knowledge of US GAAP and demonstrate the ability to grow their technical expertise.

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, footnotes and necessary support as well as management reports, as applicable. Including public client’s Form 10-K, Form 10-Q, and quarterly earnings releases
• Assist in preparation of Partner Capital Statements and notices
• Validate financial information maintained by third party service providers
• Ability to perform basic US GAAP research
• Potential exposure or assistance to ad hoc or special accounting projects such as implementation of accounting software, IPO projects, transaction or business process review, forensic investigations, and other financial reporting and asset management reporting assistance

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting
• 3+ years of relevant accounting and financial reporting work experience
• Understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting

Compensation

Minimum Pay: $78,500

Maximum Pay: $163,000
