Job summary

Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco seeks an experienced Director, Insurance Credit Risk to underwrite and monitor an insurance company portfolio. You will translate financial data into actionable credit conclusions and advise internal partners, serving as a technical resource on insurance credit risk, reinsurance, and capital adequacy.

You will develop credit memoranda, track regulatory changes, and present analyses to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in credit analysis, underwriting, financial analysis or risk management.
• Experience assessing insurance company creditworthiness with statutory and GAAP filings.
• Knowledge of insurance regulation and credit rating methodologies.
• Ability to present complex credit recommendations to senior authorities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate insurance company creditworthiness using financial statements, regulatory filings, reserves and liquidity.
• Assess investment portfolio risk and exposure to market conditions.
• Prepare credit memoranda with rationale and proposed structure.
• Monitor portfolio for changes in financial condition and regulatory status.
• Present conclusions to senior management and governance committees.
