Job summary

thyssenkrupp Materials NA in Southfield, MI seeks an HR Compliance Director to oversee company-wide HR compliance across 40+ states and multiple locations. You will lead an HR Compliance team, drive policy development, audits, and risk mitigation, and coordinate with internal counsel and executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration or related field.
• 5 years of experience in HR Compliance (preferably in a large company) or similar role.
• 10 years of experience in Human Resources, including at least 3 years leading a multi functional team.
• Extensive knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws.
• Experience creating, maintaining, and implementing HR Policies and Procedures.
• Ability to solve complex problems.
• Demonstrated ability to work with C-Suite and drive enterprise-scale HR compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR policies and procedures in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct audits and reviews of HR processes, practices, and records to identify compliance gaps.
• Monitor and address potential compliance issues, such as discrimination and wage/hour violations.
• Lead investigations and oversee background checks, drug testing, and I-9 compliance programs.
• Create and report on HR Compliance KPIs; collaborate with legal counsel as needed.
