Job summary

Community Connections is seeking a Sr. Director of Housing & Property Management to provide strategic leadership over the housing portfolio, subsidies, and asset management in DC.

The role requires overseeing budgets, regulatory compliance, and cross-department coordination across Housing, Facilities, Finance, and Clinical Services. The position is hybrid with substantial on-site responsibilities at agency properties, including 46 agency-owned and leased properties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred.
• 10+ years in affordable or subsidized housing or property management with leadership experience.
• Experience with Housing Choice Voucher or HUD-assisted programs.
• Knowledge of property operations, building systems, and capital projects.
• Strong budgeting, internal controls, and audit readiness.
• Proficiency in Excel and Yardi or comparable systems.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care and Housing First concepts.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass background checks.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for housing portfolio, subsidies, and asset management.
• Oversee budget administration, revenue, and housing assistance payments.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with HUD, DC laws, and safety standards.
• Lead staffing, performance reviews, and cross-department coordination.
• Monitor performance metrics and coordinate audits and corrective actions.
• Maintain audit-ready records in Yardi and other systems.
• Represent the organization in external housing matters and partnerships.
