Job summary

Marquette University is seeking a Senior Director of Housing & Residence Life to provide strategic leadership for the residential experience, advancing student belonging, engagement, and development. The role reports to the VP of Student Life and collaborates with the Division of Belonging and Student Affairs to connect residential and co-curricular experiences.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher education or related field.
• Significant supervisory experience managing para/professional staff in a university residence life setting.
• Strong budget, financial oversight and resource allocation experience.
• Ability to engage and serve diverse student communities.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational and crisis management skills.
• Experience leading organizational change and cross-divisional collaboration.
• Knowledge of issues affecting college students, belonging, engagement and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Oversee housing operations, including staff and student services, ensuring quality programs and services for residents.
• Develop and implement communications strategies with the Marquette community regarding residential programs, policies and opportunities.
• Plan and manage facilities and long-term renovations aligning with campus planning.
• Supervise staff, including hiring, performance management, and staff development.
• Design and evaluate policies and systems to support a cohesive residential experience.
• Develop assessment strategies to measure program impact and inform decisions.
• Develop and manage the department budget to meet priorities and student needs.
