Job summary

Centenary University seeks a Director of Residence Life and Community Standards to lead housing operations for ~600 students across eight halls and two campuses. You will supervise professional staff, manage student conduct, and develop programs that foster belonging and academic success.

You will oversee budgeting, assessment, emergency response, and cross-campus collaboration with Campus Safety, Facilities, IT, and Academic Affairs.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Counseling, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Residence Life, Housing, Student Affairs, or a related higher education function.
• Experience supervising live-in professional staff and graduate students.
• Ability to reside in university-provided housing as a condition of employment.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for eight residence halls and oversee housing operations.
• Oversee housing assignments, occupancy management, room changes, and waitlists.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate Residence Life staff.
• Administer the University's student conduct process and handbook updates.
• Develop residential programming and learning communities to enhance engagement.
• Lead emergency management and on-call response for student safety.
• Coordinate with Facilities, IT, Academic Affairs, and Campus Safety.
• Develop and monitor operating budgets and resource allocation.
• Engage in assessment, reporting, and strategic planning for occupancy and student success.
