Job summary

Continuum Hospice is seeking a Director of Clinical Services to lead hospice clinical operations and oversee the Interdisciplinary Group. You will delegate nursing services, set goals, and ensure quality care in accordance with policies and CHAP standards.

The role requires RN licensure and strong supervisory and budgeting skills, with preference for Hospice/Palliative certification. Experience with HomeCareHomeBase EMR is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Registered Nurse with a license in good standing (state of Washington).
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing with 3 years of management experience in hospice or related health care (last 5 years); or RN with 4 years’ experience in hospice/home health/clinic in supervisory role.
• Contingent upon satisfactory references and criminal background checks.

Responsibilities

• Designates an alternate in writing to fulfill the duties of the Director of Clinical Services.
• Supervises all direct and indirect patient services.
• Guides coordinators and Clinical Managers to continually improve hospice care services.
• Assists Clinical Managers in managing clinical teams and planning.
• Participates in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient/family care.
• Assists in budget preparation and administration.
• Interprets operational indicators to detect census changes and staffing implications.
• Evaluates performance of Clinical Managers and clinicians.
• Recruits, evaluates and terminates personnel as needed.
• Conducts annual clinician evaluations and maintains clinical records in compliance with laws.
• Maintains inventory of supplies and equipment for patient services.
• Develops orientation and ongoing education programs for staff.
