Job description

Senior Program Director, Implementation

District Partners is leading the search for a PE-backed, rapidly growing healthcare technology organization helping some of the country’s most complex healthcare organizations improve how care is delivered, managed, and measured. As the company expands across large health systems, provider organizations, and other institutional healthcare environments, it needs a senior leader who understands how these organizations actually operate and can take control of complex, enterprise-level implementations. This means navigating clinical, operational, technology, data, and executive stakeholders while bringing structure and accountability to programs with significant organizational complexity.

This is a highly visible role working closely with the CTO and senior leadership, with significant exposure to healthcare executives and an opportunity to help shape how the broader implementation function scales.

The Basics

This is a newly created senior program leadership position focused on large, client-facing healthcare technology implementations that can span a year or longer.

This is not an internal PMO role, sales position, or traditional SaaS onboarding function. You will take ownership once clients enter implementation and lead the program across internal teams and senior stakeholders within complex healthcare organizations.

Success requires more than strong program management. You need to understand the realities of delivering technology and transformation inside health systems and other large healthcare institutions, where clinical priorities, operational workflows, technology dependencies, data, regulatory considerations, and multiple executive stakeholders all intersect.

What You’ll Be Owning
  • Own large, complex healthcare technology implementations from initial program structure through successful delivery and outcomes.
  • Lead programs across sophisticated healthcare environments involving clinical, operational, technology, data, and executive stakeholders.
  • Establish and manage the operating rhythm across milestones, dependencies, decisions, risks, scope changes, deliverables, and executive escalations.
  • Work closely with the CTO and senior leadership to create visibility, resolve issues, and keep critical programs moving.
  • Coordinate multiple workstreams across Product, Engineering, Implementation, client-facing teams, leadership, and customer stakeholders.
  • Translate conversations and commitments into clear requirements, deliverables, owners, deadlines, and next steps.
  • Lead senior client working sessions and executive steering discussions while holding both internal and client teams accountable for decisions and commitments.
  • Navigate complex healthcare organizations where decisions may cross clinical leadership, IT, operations, finance, population health, and other functions.
  • Control scope, identify risks early, communicate the impact of changes, and provide executives with concise, fact-based reporting and a clear recommended path forward.
  • Help establish a repeatable implementation methodology and potentially build the broader program function as customer volume continues to grow.
The Environment

This is a fast-moving, PE-backed growth environment where increasing customer demand is creating the need for greater structure around increasingly large and complex implementations. There are no direct reports initially. Leadership comes through credibility, influence, judgment, executive presence, and the ability to create accountability across teams. You should be equally comfortable leading a steering committee with health system executives, navigating a difficult implementation issue with a client, and working directly with Product and Engineering to understand what is blocked and what needs to happen next.

What You Bring To The Table
  • Significant experience leading complex, client-facing enterprise implementations, transformation programs, or technology-enabled initiatives.
  • Deep experience within the institutional healthcare ecosystem is essential. Your background should include substantial experience working within or directly supporting health systems, hospitals, IDNs, ACOs, large provider organizations, health plans, or organizations delivering enterprise technology and transformation services into these environments.
  • A strong understanding of how large healthcare organizations operate, including their clinical, operational, technology, data, regulatory, and organizational complexity.
  • Experience working across multiple levels of healthcare organizations, from operational and technical teams through senior executives.
  • Exceptional executive presence and the credibility to work directly with C-suite technology, clinical, operational, and business leaders.
  • Demonstrated success managing programs with multiple workstreams and significant technical, organizational, and stakeholder dependencies.
  • Ability to create structure, establish accountability, and drive work to completion in ambiguous or rapidly changing environments.
  • Confidence managing scope, challenging unrealistic expectations, escalating issues, and delivering difficult messages while maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Experience with healthcare data, EHR environments and integrations, clinical workflows, population health, value-based care, care management, HIPAA, PHI, or related healthcare technology environments is highly valuable.

This is not a general SaaS implementation role with healthcare exposure. We are looking for someone who understands the complexity of institutional healthcare and has successfully driven major programs within it.
