Job summary

UCSF Health Design and Construction seeks an Associate Director to lead a professional team delivering capital projects up to $70M. You will oversee project delivery across UCSF sites and report to the Executive Director, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule adherence.

The role focuses on leadership, stakeholder engagement, and staff development in a complex healthcare environment, with responsibilities across planning, governance, and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience/training.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in capital project delivery.
• 5-7 years of supervisory experience managing project teams and staff.
• Extensive knowledge of hospital/medical office project requirements and codes.
• Strong leadership, planning, scheduling, budgeting and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead a professional team of project managers and assistants on health construction projects up to $70M.
• Provide administrative oversight of staff and ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery.
• Develop project delivery strategies with executive leadership and secure internal approvals.
• Engage stakeholders and manage metrics for performance and customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with real estate, facilities, design, and regulatory partners across sites.
