Job summary

GSMA North America seeks a senior engineer to serve as the Chief Engineer contractor in Washington, D.C., with a home-based arrangement. This role interfaces with government, standard bodies, and industry partners to shape the evolution of mobile networks, including 5G/6G and AI-enabled networking.

The role will collaborate with the North America team to influence standards, engage with NTIA/ATIS, and foster innovation across academia and industry, through 2027 with renewal potential.

Qualifications

• Training in Engineering or Telecommunications is required.
• Significant experience in wireless telecommunications and related defence/technical policy work is preferred.
• Strong understanding of 3GPP standards and evolving 5G/6G architectures.

Responsibilities

• Represent GSMA in Washington and globally on technology evolution of mobile networks.
• Provide technical input for submissions on global network standards and technology.
• Lead liaison with government bodies, operators, and academia to accelerate standards and innovation.
