Job summary

AT&T is seeking a highly technical standards leader to shape future mobile network operations and automation. You will represent AT&T in industry standards and influence 3GPP SA5, SA1, SA2, SA3, RAN and CT groups, driving frameworks for 5G Advanced/6G networks and cloud-native operations.

Responsibilities include drafting standards contributions, negotiating positions with operators and vendors, and coordinating with internal teams across Network Architecture, Wireless, Core, Cloud & Platform,

Qualifications

• PhD with 4+ years of relevant industry experience; OR
• Master's with 6+ years of relevant experience; OR
• Bachelor's with 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Direct experience with 3GPP standards development.
• Expertise in one or more of: 3GPP SA5 Telecom Management OAM Network Orchestration Service Assurance Autonomous Networks Network Automation CNFs/VNFs AI/ML for network operations.

Responsibilities

• Represent AT&T in 3GPP SA5 and related orgs, shaping network management and automation.
• Lead standards strategy across Telecom management, OAM, and AI-driven operations.
• Draft contributions, white papers, and proposals for industry standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams across Network Architecture, Wireless, Core, Cloud, Security, and Product Management.
• Coordinate alignment across SA/SA1/SA2/SA3/RAN/CT groups and monitor new work items.
• Travel domestically and internationally for standards meetings.
