Job summary

Genentech’s South San Francisco campus seeks a Senior Director of Global Litigation Management to lead three operations teams (Litigation Resource Center, eDiscovery, Information Advisory and Protection Law Group) and partner with the Head of Global Litigation.

In this strategic, enterprise-wide role you will drive technology-enabled delivery, budget stewardship, and cross-functional collaboration across Global Legal Pharma to align practice groups, regions, and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; JD preferred.
• 12+ years of progressive experience in litigation operations or legal operations within a large organization.
• People management experience required.
• Deep expertise in litigation operations within a large in-house legal department or major law firm, with hands-on experience across outside counsel management and legal technology.
• Experience evaluating, selecting, and implementing legal technology solutions (matter management, e-billing, eDiscovery, document mgmt, AI tools).
• Experience overseeing discovery, fact-finding, information governance programs.
• Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industry experience is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides strategic leadership of three operational teams: Litigation Resource Center, eDiscovery, and Information Advisory & Protection Law Group.
• Oversees technology strategy and roadmap for Global Litigation, including matter management, eBilling, and AI tools.
• Drives continuous process improvement to boost productivity and reduce spend.
• Develops and maintains robust knowledge management across the global team.
• Helps manage budget, forecasting, accruals, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Organizes leadership meetings and ensures accountability for decisions.
• Collaborates across Global Legal Pharma to align practices, regions, and operations.
