Job summary

Pact is seeking a Senior Director, Business Development and Fundraising to lead a cross-organization effort for securing new funding from USG, foundations, and corporate funders. The role requires 12+ years of relevant experience, a Master’s degree, and strong leadership in bid processes.

Regionally, this hybrid position is based in the Washington, DC area, with a salary range of $130,000–$180,000 depending on experience and internal equity. Fluency in English is required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree and 12+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience, including 7 years of management.
• Proven track record of winning new work from public sector donors and foundations.
• Subject matter expertise in at least one Pact impact area (Health, Governance, Capacity Development, or Sustainable Markets).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to present complex ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Business Development unit and align with organizational goals.
• Maximize relationships and source new prospects from funders and foundations.
• Oversee proposal development to ensure competitive, compliant bids.
• Develop external communications, proposals, and pitches with program teams.
• Represent Pact at events and build strategic partnerships; travel as needed.
