ClassDojo is seeking an experienced accounting and tax leader to scale all aspects of the company’s finance operations, reporting to the CFO. You will build systems, oversee monthly closes, audits, and financial reporting, and partner with executives across the business to enable growth and responsible risk management.

This role oversees in‑house and external accounting teams, manages tax and treasury, and supports strategic initiatives including potential M&A, fundraising, and an eventual IPO.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience across accounting roles, including 3+ years at a top-tier audit firm and 8+ years in-house at startups.
• Built and led an accounting team with managers and individual contributors.
• Designed and managed full-cycle accounting close, tax, treasury, payroll, and equity administration.
• Led accounting teams through multiple clean audits with Big Four firms.
• Applied US GAAP to complex transactions with clearly documented conclusions.
• Proven track record of scaling finance operations through process or system overhauls, including AI-powered workflows.
• Oversaw global indirect tax compliance, including US sales tax and international VAT/GST.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and scale all aspects of accounting and tax operations and strategy.
• Build and scale financial systems, processes, and policies to support growth.
• Manage monthly close process, annual audits, financial reporting, and control activities.
• Oversee the in‑house accounting team and external consultants (GL, AP, revenue accounting, payroll, equity, tax, treasury).
• Partner with leaders across business units and Strategic Finance, People, Engineering, Legal, and others.
• Support the CFO and executives on strategic initiatives including M&A, fundraising, secondary transactions, and potential IPO.
• Report directly to the CFO.
