Job summary

Verizon seeks a Senior Director of Federal Government Relations in Washington, DC to drive the company’s federal policy agenda and maintain a robust Capitol Hill presence. You will shape policy across broadband, privacy, spectrum, and taxation while coordinating with internal leaders and external groups.

You’ll manage relationships with Democratic lawmakers and staff, oversee PAC activities, and represent Verizon in forums and coalitions. Hybrid work with three days in office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or eight or more years of work experience.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience in government relations, legislative advocacy, or Capitol Hill policy work.
• An established, high-level network of professional relationships with direct line-of-sight into Congressional Democratic politics and leadership.
• Exceptional knowledge of the federal legislative process, committee structures, and policy development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong, productive relationships with Democratic Members of the U.S. House and Senate and key Congressional staff.
• Execute legislative strategies to advance policy frameworks on broadband, spectrum, privacy, taxation, and other issues.
• Define and drive Verizon’s federal policy agenda while monitoring hearings, markups, and floor action.
• Lead Democratic political outreach, including PAC contributions to Democratic candidates.
• Coordinate outreach with outside consultants, trade associations, and internal teams for a unified message.
• Represent Verizon across political forums, coalitions, and industry panels.
