Job summary

Florida International University is seeking an Assistant Vice President for Estate and Gift Planning to provide strategic leadership for a comprehensive program expanding philanthropy through bequests, trusts, and other planned giving vehicles. Qualifications

• Master's degree with six years of experience or Bachelor's degree with eight years of experience.
• Experience in estate and gift planning or related fundraising leadership.
• Expertise in tax/financial implications of planned and deferred giving vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for a comprehensive estate and gift planning program.
• Serve as SME on planned and deferred giving for donors and leadership.
• Manage portfolio of major and principal gifts and solicit/steward them.
• Negotiate and finalize terms of complex new planned and estate gifts.
• Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate staff.
• Lead annual operating and long-term strategy for the program.
• Oversee compliance with gift policies, campaign standards, and legal/tax requirements.
• Lead marketing and communications strategy for the program.
• Cultivate relationships with estate planners and advisors.
• Represent the university at professional organizations and events.
• Track prospect and donor activity in the donor database.
