SOLV Energy is seeking a Senior Director of Risk Management & Construction Risk to lead enterprise risk initiatives and shape the company’s risk posture. This remote, senior- level role partners with executive leadership to integrate risk into all major decisions and project strategies.

The role oversees insurance, risk financing, and surety programs, and drives strategic assessments for large-scale solar and infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
MBA or Master’s Degree in Risk Management or related field preferred.
15+ years of progressive experience in enterprise risk management, project risk, construction risk, insurance, or operational risk in EPC/industrial sectors.
Significant experience managing large-scale insurance and risk financing programs.
Experience with captive insurance, self-insurance, large deductible programs, or alternative risk financing structures preferred.
Proven track record managing complex claims and litigation matters.
Experience partnering with executive leadership teams and Boards of Directors.
Strong understanding of construction operations, project delivery methods, and contractual risk environments.

Responsibilities

Lead and continually enhance the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework across the organization.
Advise executive leadership and the Board on enterprise, operational, financial, contractual, and emerging risks.
Develop enterprise risk assessments, risk registers, and KRIs; establish executive risk reporting and dashboards.
Collaborate with Operations, Preconstruction, Safety, Finance, Legal, and HR to integrate risk into decisions.
Evaluate risks in major projects, acquisitions, and geographic expansions; provide risk guidance.
Partner with Operations to assess risk for pursuits and execution; support go/no-go decisions.
Oversee insurance programs (GL, Workers' Comp, Auto, Umbrella, Builders Risk, etc.).
Lead alternative risk financing programs including captive structures and TCOR modeling.
Steer surety bonding strategy; manage relationships with sureties; negotiate terms.
Oversee claims management and loss reduction; manage complex claims with legal partners.
Mentor and develop risk management team; promote a proactive risk culture.
