Avalere Health is seeking a Senior Director of Engagement Strategy to lead large, multi‑workstream programs, shaping how audiences experience brands across channels and moments that matter. This role owns strategy and ensures teams translate direction into cohesive, high‑impact experiences.

The Senior Director acts as a trusted advisor to clients and internal leaders, guiding critical decisions and driving engagement effectiveness while developing strategy talent across the organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in engagement, digital, or omnichannel strategy.
• Senior engagement strategy lead with direction-setting and activation experience.
• Designing journeys, ecosystems, activation strategies, and content frameworks.
• Strong storytelling and ability to align cross-functional teams around a vision.
• Confident client leader with executive presence and cross-functional influence.
• Proven people leadership and coaching of Directors and rising leaders.
• Willingness to travel occasionally (up to 10%).

Responsibilities

• Lead large, complex engagement strategy programs end‑to‑end; set strategic direction and structure workstreams.
• Translate brand strategy into holistic engagement approaches across channels.
• Make senior-level strategic decisions on audiences, channels, and experiences.
• Serve as a senior client partner; lead high‑stakes discussions and strategic counsel.
• Pair with Brand Strategy, Creative, Media, Analytics, Medical/Scientific, and Account leaders.
• Use insights to refine strategy, support optimization, and improve engagement impact over time.
• Identify risks and course‑correct to protect strategic integrity and outcomes.
• Mentor Directors and Associate Directors to build leadership capability.
