Senior Director / Director, Technical Accounting

The Senior Director / Director, Technical Accounting oversees Roivant’s technicalaccounting team and serves as a U.S. GAAP subject matter expert to support internalstakeholders across several functional areas. This role is responsible for researching,interpreting, and executing the accounting activities related to Roivant’s complextransactions. It also oversees the implementation of new accounting standards, offersexpertise on accounting policy issues, and supports ad hoc accounting initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical accounting team in researching, communicating, andresolving the complex accounting matters surrounding Roivant’s licensing andacquisition activities. Provide accounting policy expertise to Roivant and itssubsidiaries.
  • Manage the accounting activities associated with partnerships, licensingagreements, asset acquisitions and other collaborations, including purchaseaccounting, valuation of intangibles and contingent consideration liabilities.
  • Serve as Roivant’s technical accounting and accounting policy subject matterexpert to continuously manage policy updates, provide policy training, andadvise internal stakeholders in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Offer specialized technical accounting support across various complex topicssuch as derivatives, revenue recognition, leases, intangible assets, inventorymanagement, restructuring, and more.
  • Stay current on U.S. GAAP and SEC updates and lead the implementation ofnew accounting and disclosure requirements.
  • Participate in the review of the financial statement disclosures for Roivant’spublic filings, including Forms 10-Q and 10-K.
  • Lead high-impact, ad hoc projects to support Roivant’s evolving business needsand prepare various presentations for Chief Accounting Officer and ExecutiveLeadership Team.
  • Partner with external auditors on technical accounting matters and relateddisclosures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, Master's degree preferred.
  • CPA required.
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in technical accounting, financialreporting and / or corporate accounting experience gained throughemployment at a major public accounting firm and / or within the accountingfunction at a U.S. public company.
  • Strong technical accounting and research skills, with solid knowledge of SECreporting, U.S. GAAP, and SOX compliance.
  • Experience successfully leading multiple projects simultaneous while effectivelymanaging competing priorities.
  • Skilled in developing practical solutions to complex business challenges andpartnering with internal stakeholders to drive execution.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage high performing teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a proven ability tocollaborate cross-functionally.
  • Skilled at distilling complex and technical accounting concepts into clear,concise, and effective presentations.
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced, complex organization.

Base salary for this role will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors,including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market conditions. Theexpected base salary for the role will generally be between $215,000 - $270,000 per year at the commencement ofemployment, but the final salary offered may be outside this range based on individual circumstances and businessand market conditions.

Base salary if hired is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may alsoinclude other components such as discretionary bonuses, equity, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and Roivant reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionarypayment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance andbusiness and market conditions.
