This role is responsible for overseeing the execution of efforts related to preparation, review, submission, and distribution of all periodic financial statements for external use required by governmental and regulatory agencies, including US SEC 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K. In addition, this role oversees the Revenue Team by reviewing workpapers, analytics, and other support for monthly revenue entries and adjustments.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for purchase accounting for business combinations, management of third-party valuation SMEs, as well as accounting due diligence and related controls. Responsible for review and oversight of complex accounting, including goodwill impairment analysis, stock compensation, pensions, segment reporting, revenue recognition, and EPS.
  • Provides technical accounting guidance including support for front-end business development activities, financing and related transactions, acquisitions, dispositions, and deal structuring.
  • Develops and maintains consistency across accounting policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with US GAAP/IFRS accounting policies and applicable laws and regulations. Responsible for review of technical accounting research, technical accounting memos, and communication of technical accounting conclusions including collaborating with the business and FP&A to understand transactions and communicate accounting position of such transactions.
  • Provides advice and interpretation with respect to matters of accounting, disclosure, and other financial considerations.
  • Responsible for monitoring external accounting and regulatory developments that potentially impact Thryv. Leads the implementation of new accounting standards, including working with industry groups, regulators, and external auditors on implementation issues.
  • Responsible for review of quarterly and annual SEC and regulatory filings, including management review meetings and supplemental financial reporting schedules. Leads the preparation and review of periodic financial statements and footnotes to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations as well as SEC filings, including proxy and earnings release materials, certain audit committee and disclosure committee materials. Responsible for internal reporting, monthly management reporting, quarterly board decks, earnings scripts.
  • Partners and works with finance and accounting teams on new or amended contracts, issues, and other operational changes. Partner with Investor Relations, FP&A, HR, Tax, Internal Audit, Accounting Operations and other cross-functional groups to achieve objectives.
  • Responsible for effective operation of key and non-key internal controls related to financial reporting and technical accounting. Responsible for all matters related to quarterly review and audit related to financial reporting and technical accounting.
  • Performs other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or international equivalent), required.
  • CPA, CMA, CA or equivalent certification, required.
  • 10+ years of related experience, including progressive accounting with a minimum of 5 years of Big 4 Public accounting experience, required.
  • 12+ years of related experience, preferred.
  • Strong experience in financial reporting, US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations governing financial statements and disclosures for global public companies.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of US GAAP and accounting proficiency in business combinations (ASC 805), revenue recognition (ASC 606), and across multiple areas including deferred revenue (ASC 430), other assets, and deferred cost (ASC 340), leases (ASC 842), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), contingencies (ASC 450), consolidation (ASC 810), research and development (ASC 730), foreign currency matters (ASC 830), debt and equity (ASC 480), and pensions.
  • Experience working with high growth or technology companies and companies that have recently made public stock offerings.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems as well as financial reporting platforms such as Workiva and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to travel less than 5% of the time.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must successfully complete pre-employment screening process, as required.
  • Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses, as needed.
