Job summary

Temporal is seeking a leader to build and head the Developer Advocacy team in North America. You will recruit, coach, and empower senior advocates, drive content, talks, and workshops, and partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to shape developer-facing narratives.

Based in the Bay Area or US remote with frequent Bay Area travel, you will influence events, communities, and programs, ensuring developers learn about Temporal and adopt its durable execution capabilities.

Qualifications

• Senior-level developer advocacy experience with credibility in technical communities.
• People management experience or leading programs across a team.
• Ability to create technical content that developers watch or read.
• Gift for teaching complex distributed systems concepts on stage or in workshops.
• Built programs requiring cross-team buy-in and collaboration.
• Willingness to travel ~30–40%; Bay Area presence is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of Developer Advocates with clear goals.
• Co-develop talks, review demos, pair on content, and help advocates find their voice.
• Build cadence for planning, events, and content pipelines to stay focused.
• Set strategy to earn awareness among developers in North America via communities and events.
• Grow online developer audience by valuable content and channel decisions.
• Plan in-person North America presence with partnerships for consistent community presence.
• Develop use-case narratives, demos, and experiences with measurable success metrics.
• Identify tools, frameworks, and communities to collaborate with and form partnerships.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to align messaging and narratives.
• Define metrics linking advocacy to adoption and product impact.
