Job summary

PHD Media in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior Director of Data Science to lead a high-performing team focused on predictive modeling and data-driven marketing insights. You will manage stakeholder expectations, oversee complex models, and drive the strategic use of data across campaigns.

The role emphasizes advanced analytics, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and communication of results to clients and executives. In-office presence is required in this leadership position.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with predictive modeling, databases, computational simulation, clustering, machine learning, and remote computing in academia or industry.
• 8+ years of industry experience with Python, SQL, R, and other similar statistical computing environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; thrive in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Ability to clearly explain complex technical ideas to multiple audiences both verbally and in writing.
• Graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, engineering, information management, social sciences or business/marketing related fields.
• Experience working in high volume databases, utilizing quantitative techniques to solve problems such as campaign analysis, optimization, customer segmentation, and/or predictive modeling.
• Strong command of statistical techniques and concepts.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A strong desire to learn and passion for digital marketing, research and analytics.
• Ability to work well with others and work in cross functional teams.
• Ability to manage and prioritize a number of concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain productive relationships with clients at peer level or higher.
• Participate on multi-disciplinary project teams developing marketing strategies.
• Coach and manage the learning path of other Data Science team members.
• Present complex reporting, models, and dashboards to diverse audiences through data storytelling.
• Set up analysis parameters with Advertiser, Media Strategy and Digital Investment teams.
• Build modeling and machine learning capabilities using large datasets.
• Support Digital Attribution and Advertising Lift models in data clean rooms.
• Evaluate model performance to determine cut-off points and targeting pools.
• Obtain data from various sources (S3, data partnerships, data clean rooms, etc.).
• Deploy scalable solutions to cloud-based infrastructure for data processing and visualization.
