Job summary

Crisis Connections in Seattle, WA, seeks a Senior Director of Crisis Services to provide strategic leadership for Washington State's critical behavioral health programs, including 988 and the Regional Crisis Line. You will shape crisis intervention delivery, support life-saving work at scale, and strengthen the state's crisis response system.

Working with the VP of Clinical Care and leaders, you will guide clinical excellence, operational performance, workforce strategy, and program innovation

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related field.
• Independent clinical licensure (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW, or equivalent) or eligible for WA licensure.
• Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health crisis services.
• Five or more years of management experience, including leadership of managers and program leaders.
• Significant experience leading complex, high-volume, 24/7 behavioral health crisis contact center operations.
• Demonstrated expertise with 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline services and crisis system operations.

• Lead and develop program leaders while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure high-quality, evidence-based, culturally responsive crisis intervention services across phone, chat, and text platforms.
• Use data and performance metrics to drive service excellence, improve outcomes, and meet contractual goals.
• Partner with funders, healthcare organizations, government agencies, and community stakeholders to strengthen the crisis response system.
• Guide program growth, innovation, change initiatives, and workforce planning in a complex and evolving behavioral health environment.

Working closely with the Vice President of Clinical Care and organizational leaders, you will guide clinical excellence, operational performance, workforce strategy, and program innovation across high-volume, 24/7 crisis services. You will also serve as a key representative with funders, system partners, and stakeholders, helping advance the future of crisis care.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Master's degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field.
• Independent clinical licensure (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW, or equivalent). Candidates licensed outside Washington must be eligible for Washington licensure and have licensure pending or in progress at hire.
• Seven or more years of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health crisis services.
• Five or more years of management experience, including leadership of managers and program leaders.
• Significant experience leading complex, high-volume, 24/7 behavioral health crisis contact center operations.
• Demonstrated expertise with 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline services and crisis system operations.
• Strong track record of leading organizational change, improving performance, and managing multi-program operations.
