Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences is seeking a Senior Director Corporate Development to lead transactions from target assessment through integration. This on-site Irvine-based role partners with executive leadership to shape growth strategy in the corporate development function.

You will build financial models, evaluate strategic partnerships and acquisitions, negotiate terms, coordinate due diligence, and prepare materials for the Board of Directors. A background in healthcare or medical devices is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in related field.
• Minimum of 14 years of experience previous related experience or minimum of 12 years of related experience and a Master’s degree
• Experience in Business Development, Corporate Development, investment banking, strategy consulting, venture capital or a related field
• Experience negotiating deals within a Global / Corporate environment
• Experience managing post-merger integrations

Responsibilities

• Leading corporate development projects from start to finish, including assessing potential targets, making recommendations, structuring and negotiating the agreements, and coordinating integration efforts
• Executing corporate development projects with highest criticality including identifying and vetting of strategic partnerships and/or acquisitions including strategic fit and financial impact
• Synthesizing information from multiple sources to generate insights and recommendations on business development strategies and opportunities for Edwards
• Building financial models to assess market opportunities and potential technology investments as a basis for go- no go strategic decisions
• Preparing monthly briefing materials for executive management and the Board of Directors
• Contributing to Edwards Corporate Development pipeline
• Coordinating due diligence efforts including the collection and dissemination of diligence materials
• Preparing and analyzing alternative deal structuring options
• Coordinating the preparation of definitive agreement schedules
• Identify value creation/synergies and develop integration roadmaps with relevant business unit, functional and regional stakeholders
