Job summary

J.Jill is seeking an experienced Corporate Controller to lead the accounting organization and ensure the integrity of financial reporting, internal controls, and operational excellence across accounting functions.

Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, you will oversee general accounting, close processes, SEC reporting, and SOX compliance while mentoring a high-performing team and driving process improvements in a retail, inventory-heavy business.

Qualifications

• Active CPA certification and a bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in a publicly traded company.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and financial close processes.
• Proven ability to lead accounting teams and oversee complex accounting matters.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with accurate reporting.
• Oversee SEC reporting, technical accounting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Provide review and guidance on significant accounting estimates, reserves, and complex transactions.
• Partner with external auditors and Internal Audit for audits and committee reporting.
• Maintain effective accounting policies and internal controls across the organization.
