J.Jill seeks an experienced Corporate Controller to lead our accounting organization and ensure the integrity of financial reporting, internal controls, and operational excellence across accounting functions. Reporting to the CAO, this role oversees general accounting, close, SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and payroll for a retail environment.

Qualifications

• Active CPA certification and bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership in a publicly traded company.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and financial close processes.
• Proven ability to lead accounting teams, exercise sound financial judgment, and provide oversight of complex accounting matters.
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills across all levels of the business.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely financial reporting.
• Oversee SEC reporting, technical accounting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP and regulatory requirements.
• Provide review of significant accounting estimates, reserves, and complex transactions.
• Partner with external auditors and Internal Audit for significant accounting matters.
