Job summary

NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) is seeking a Director of Project Management to lead detention and facilities projects across ACS locations. You will manage the full lifecycle of capital construction, supervise a skilled team, and coordinate with DCAS, DOB, FDNY, and other entities to achieve timely, compliant delivery.

The role requires strong leadership, extensive project management experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Qualifications

• Five years of full-time experience managing and inspecting construction projects with minimum total cost thresholds.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering/architecture/construction management or related field OR equivalent experience.
• Must have strong supervisory and managerial experience with facilities management and procurement/budget processes.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee the full life cycle of capital and expense-funded construction and facilities projects from planning through occupancy.
• Manage multiple medium to large-scale projects ensuring on-schedule, on-budget delivery and compliance with laws and codes.
• Oversee emergency repairs, preventive maintenance, and facility improvement programs across ACS locations.
• Supervise project management staff, engineers, consultants, contractors, and other technical personnel.
• Coordinate with regulatory agencies and prepare executive-level reports and project updates.
