Job summary

New York State Homes and Community Renewal seeks an AVP, Construction Compliance in New York, NY to lead the agency's construction compliance strategy and oversee MWBE, SDVOB, and EEO outcomes.

Reporting to senior leadership, you will set priorities, advise executives on risk, and coordinate across internal programs and external partners to ensure regulatory alignment and successful project delivery within the Affordable Housing Corporation portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with professional experience in construction compliance or housing finance.
• Minimum 6 years of progressively responsible experience in construction compliance, housing finance, procurement, or related field.
• At least 3 years of supervisory or management experience overseeing staff and operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead DECO’s construction compliance strategy across the agency’s development and construction portfolio.
• Advise executive leadership on compliance risks, trends, resources, and long-term strategies.
• Oversee agency-wide partnership efforts to integrate MWBE, SDVOB, and EEO priorities into programs.
• Coordinate with internal leaders and external partners for policy matters and implementation.
• Direct supervision of senior compliance leadership and establish accountability standards.
• Monitor performance metrics, escalation processes, and regulatory reporting across projects.
