Job summary

New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) seeks an AVP, Compliance to lead MWBE participation across SIG, RETS, Asset Portfolio Management, and Compliance. You will set MWBE goals, monitor compliance, and drive program improvements.

You will partner with internal teams and external stakeholders, analyze data, and provide strategic recommendations to advance equity in contracting and development opportunities. NYC residency is required within 180 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Public or Business Administration, Public Affairs and Policy, Economics, the Social Sciences, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of related experience, including experience with M/W/DBE, Affluent Action, or community economic development programming.
• Experience developing and administering programs that expand access to opportunities for small businesses and MWBEs in the public or private sector.
• Experience in public procurement and knowledge of financing resources available to small businesses.
• Demonstrated data skills, with intermediate MS Word and PowerPoint, and advanced Excel skills.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, with ability to present to audiences across all levels of an organization.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Opportunity MWBE lead for assigned portfolios, advancing MWBE participation and compliance.
• Manage MWBE procurement, contracting, and compliance activities across assigned portfolios.
• Lead coordination with internal and external stakeholders to advance MWBE objectives and meet milestones.
• Identify barriers to MWBE participation and develop targeted strategies and policies.
• Lead negotiations and partnerships with developers, contractors, and public agencies to advance MWBE goals.
• Lead MWBE performance analytics, including portfolio-level metrics and data quality.
• Develop complex analyses, briefings, reports, dashboards, and strategic recommendations.
• Advance MWBE outreach, supplier engagement, and capacity-building efforts.
