Qualifications

  • Previous Biometrics CRO sales experience required.
  • Deep knowledge of drug development processes.

Business Development Executive - Commercial (CRO)

Metric Bio seeking a Senior Director of Business Development to join a PE backed Global full-service CRO to their expanding team in the US. This individual will be responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the clinical research landscape and proven experience in selling full-service CRO solutions including clinical trial management, data management, biostatistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve revenue targets and expand market presence.
  • Identify and engage potential clients in the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors.
  • Lead the end-to-end business development cycle: prospecting, proposal development, bid defense, and contract negotiation.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Collaborate with internal functional teams (clinical operations, regulatory, biometrics, etc.) to tailor solutions to client needs.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline and forecasting data using CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Stay current on market trends, competitors, and industry developments.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 6+ years of business development experience in a full-service CRO.
  • Must have previous Biometrics CRO sales experience.
  • Deep knowledge of drug development processes and full-service CRO offerings.
  • Strong network within small to mid-sized pharma and biotech companies.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Self-motivated, strategic thinker with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel as needed (up to 30%).
