Job summary

AbbVie in North Chicago, IL is seeking a Sr Director Process Engineering Peptides API to set enterprise direction for process engineering strategy across biologics drug substance and CGT manufacturing within Strategic Investment.

You will lead governance, standards, and high-impact technical delivery across sites, partner with operations, quality, EHS and external partners, and drive scalable platform deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science or relevant technical discipline required.
• Typically 15+ years of engineering, manufacturing, capital project or regulated manufacturing experience.
• Demonstrated capability in biologics drug substance and CGT process engineering strategy and delivery.
• Experience supporting biologics drug substance, cell therapy or CGT manufacturing environments preferred.
• Strong communication, risk management and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support engineering strategy for biologics drug substance and CGT process engineering across sites.
• Ensure safety, quality, regulatory compliance and operational readiness in deliverables.
• Coordinate input from project teams, site SMEs, external partners and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Drive timely resolution of technical issues and escalation when needed.
