HEALTH CARE PARTNERS in South Carolina seeks a Director of Behavioral Health Services to provide strategic leadership, clinical oversight, and operational management across our behavioral health departments. The role emphasizes integrated care and high-quality service delivery.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program.
Current South Carolina LISW-CP/S license required.
Minimum of five years of progressive behavioral health experience.
Previous leadership or program management experience required.
Experience with FQHCs or integrated healthcare settings preferred.
Experience with behavioral health billing and EHR systems preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide leadership, direction, and oversight for Behavioral Health Services across all HCPSC locations.
Supervise, mentor, and support behavioral health counselors, case managers, and other team members.
Provide clinical supervision in accordance with South Carolina licensure requirements and organizational policies.
Maintain a limited patient caseload by providing behavioral health assessments, counseling services, crisis intervention, treatment planning, and follow-up care as needed.
Develop, implement, and maintain behavioral health policies, procedures, clinical workflows, and evidence-based practices.
Collaborate with medical, dental, pharmacy, nursing, and administrative leadership to support integrated, whole-person care.
Maintain and improve behavioral health quality metrics, clinical outcomes, productivity expectations, documentation standards, and patient satisfaction measures through continuous improvement initiatives.
Develop and implement strategies to improve department performance, workflow efficiency, access to care, and overall patient experience.
Monitor service utilization, productivity, and operational performance to identify opportunities for growth, improvement, and enhanced delivery of behavioral health services.
Lead quality improvement initiatives that support compliance with HRSA, FQHC requirements, organizational goals, and evidence-based behavioral health practices.
Review clinical documentation, workflows, and processes to ensure accuracy, compliance, appropriate billing practices, and continued improvement in service delivery.
Support program development, strategic planning, grant initiatives, and expansion of behavioral health services.
Establish and maintain relationships with hospitals, community agencies, schools, and other referral partners to improve access to behavioral health resources.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HRSA requirements, FQHC standards, and applicable behavioral health regulations.
Participate in leadership meetings, quality improvement committees, and organizational initiatives.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Perform other duties as assigned.
