Job summary

Good Samaritan Careers is seeking a Director of Behavioral Health to lead all behavioral health service lines and facilities. The role provides strategic direction, oversees staff, and ensures high-quality, compliant care while guiding budgeting and program development.

You will partner with Executive Leadership to drive improvements, negotiate contracts, and align operations with the organization's strategic plan, maintaining fiscal stewardship and patient safety across departments.

Qualifications

• The candidate has a master's degree in health administration, business, social work, or related field with a focus on behavioral health administration.
• Minimum five years of leadership experience in a behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

• Accept full responsibility for all behavioral health activities, programs and services and drive goals and procedures.
• Administer the budget according to parameters defined by hospital leadership.
• Inform the Executive Team on financial conditions, progress, and future needs.
• Provide leadership and direction to achieve short and long-range goals.
• Develop proposals for new programs or major changes in service delivery.
• Ensure alignment with the organization's strategic plan.
• Ensure efficient, economical, and high-quality performance across departments.
• Lead patient satisfaction and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Negotiate and oversee behavioral health contracts.
• Monitor clinical quality of care and compliance with standards and fiscal controls.
• Collaborate with Quality Council on data tracking to meet patient safety benchmarks.
