Job summary

McKesson seeks a Sr Director to own Shared Platform Capabilities, External Engagement Experience, and Internal Developer Portal. You will lead two engineering teams, shape platform strategy, and deliver AI-native, GitOps-driven solutions that reduce toil and accelerate partner integrations.

The role emphasizes executive communication, cross-functional partnership, and scaling developer experiences across McKesson Technology and CMM platforms.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience; 13+ years of software engineering with leadership
• Proven ability to build platforms adopted by multiple product teams
• Deep fluency in GitOps and IaC (Terraform)
• Experience with internal developer portals (Backstage, Port) and external API products
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management

Responsibilities

• Define multi-year strategy for shared platform and developer portals
• Lead two engineering teams across multiple disciplines
• Establish engineering standards: test-first, GitOps-first, AI-native tooling
• Partner with Core Platform, Reliability, and MT on shared services and security
• Drive adoption and measure success with portal performance and partner integrations
