Job summary

Lilly is seeking an M3-level technology leader to direct Clinical Design and Operations technology strategy and delivery. You will lead through managers, champion AI adoption, and ensure compliant, high-value solutions across a portfolio of clinical capabilities.

The role demands deep technical fluency, governance participation, and the ability to influence across multiple business areas and external partners. Strong experience in AI-enabled delivery is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum 8+ years' experience in technology delivery or engineering leadership, including leadership through subordinate managers.
• Experience delivering within Agile/SAFe environments and product-led operating models.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Clinical Design and Operations technology portfolio through subordinate managers and manage resources.
• Set and drive the technical and AI strategy, championing AI and agentic workflows.
• Evaluate and resolve complex business, operational, and technical challenges across clinical capabilities.
• Make decisions guided by strategy that significantly impact the function.
• Build relationships with internal and external partners to align on technology direction.
• Ensure portfolio solutions meet GxP, security, and quality requirements from design through delivery.
• Maintain technical depth to guide architecture and AI-adoption decisions.
• Upskill managers and engineers in technical and AI capabilities.
• Forecast and manage resources to meet objectives across the portfolio.
• Represent technology in governance forums and investment decisions.
