Job summary

Lilly is seeking a senior technical leader to guide Clinical Tech Design & Operations, owning the technical direction of complex initiatives and ensuring secure, scalable integration across design and operational systems. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
• Extensive software/systems engineering experience delivering complex, enterprise-scale solutions with clear technical ownership.
• Data and solution integration experience across large, complex ecosystems.
• Experience in one or more technologies, able to set integration standards and guide engineers.
• Experience in applying AI in day-to-day engineering.
• Experience across integrations, APIs, event-driven architecture, and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience designing resilient solutions in partnership with engineering, cyber, and infrastructure teams.
• Experience solving the toughest technical problems affecting operations at scale.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical direction of complex initiatives across clinical design and operations.
• Lead data and solution integration across the ecosystem.
• Partner with Software Product Engineering, Cyber Security, and Infrastructure & Digital Core to drive standards.
• Research and apply emerging technology—AI/ML, agentic workflows, intelligent automation.
• Champion modernization and resilience, reducing technical debt and improving observability.
• Embed secure and AI-assisted engineering to accelerate delivery and improve quality.
• Define integration patterns and engineering standards adopted across teams.
• Elevate technical colleagues by sharing knowledge to broaden impact.
• Improve engineering processes and guide organizational change.
• Gain support for initiatives spanning clinical design and operations, engineering, cyber, and infrastructure.
• Provide authoritative troubleshooting leadership on complex integration and design-system challenges.
