Job summary

AMD seeks a visionary Senior Director of AI Data Center Infrastructure Engineering to lead strategy, architecture, deployment, and operation of AMD’s AI data centers and large-scale compute environments.

The role demands executive leadership, systems thinking, and deep expertise across data center architecture, networking, distributed systems, cluster operations, and interconnect technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying, and operating large-scale data center environments.
• Experience leading engineering organizations and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated success building and scaling AI, cloud, hyperscale, HPC, or enterprise data center infra.

Responsibilities

• Define AMD's end-to-end AI data center infrastructure strategy across compute, facilities, and scalability.
• Lead architecture and deployment decisions for large-scale AI/HPC data centers spanning thousands of servers.
• Drive power, cooling, space, capacity planning, and operational readiness.
• Analyze performance, reliability, and TCO tradeoffs to optimize infra investments.
• Partner with internal teams and vendors to deliver AI infrastructure platforms.
• Own architecture decisions across silicon, servers, rack-scale deployments.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, networking, and product teams to align with roadmaps.
• Lead reliability and SRE principles, observability, and incident management.
• Establish scalable standards and methodologies for future AI platforms.
• Lead deployment and lifecycle management of large AI training/inference clusters.
• Develop automation to speed deployments and improve reliability and cost.
