Job summary

CareSource is seeking a Senior Director, Actuarial Science to set strategic direction, drive innovation and deliver insights that improve company performance.

You will lead a team of actuaries, oversee pricing, forecasting, model development, and regulatory interactions with federal and state authorities. The role requires extensive actuarial experience and strong leadership to communicate analytics across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics or a related field.
• 10 years of decision support, financial analysis, or actuarial experience preferred.
• 5 years of management experience preferred.
• Strong database (SAS or Access) experience preferred.
• Managed Care or healthcare experience preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of SQL, SAS, R or other data manipulation software.

Responsibilities

• Pricing, forecasting, month-end close activities and performance monitoring with explanations.
• Lead a team of actuaries and ensure training and development.
• Develop internal statistical models to support business goals and initiatives.
• Ensure stakeholders are accountable for actuarial requests.
• Influence regulators and interact at federal/state levels.
• Lead new business projects for the business development team.
• Oversee integrity of rate filing requirements.
• Identify opportunities across functions to drive corporate goals.
• Oversee mentorship programs for analysts.
• Stay current on industry developments and regulations.
• Explain financial drivers for owned products/markets such as IBNR.
• Engage with regulators and trade associations on policy matters.
• Provide actuarial expertise to internal teams on policy and regulations.
• Perform other duties as requested.
