Job summary

The Senior Digital Project Manager at Cato Institute leads delivery of digital products, AI, design, and data visualization from intake to launch, coordinating internal and external teams in a hybrid Washington, DC role.

This is not an entry-level position; we seek a seasoned operator who can manage scope and timelines under pressure, with agency or logistics experience and a willingness to adopt AI-powered tools.

Qualifications

• Significant, proven experience managing digital projects independently.
• Ability to manage stakeholder relationships and flag scope creep.
• Comfort operating within technical platforms to support content and design teams.
• Open to adopting AI-powered tools to reduce manual tracking and reporting.
• Broad knowledge of digital product management, design, and data visualization.

Responsibilities

• Conduct end-to-end planning and delivery of multiple concurrent digital products (AI, design, data visualization).
• Independently manage stakeholder relationships and flag scope creep or unrealistic timelines.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with design, web development, data visualization and external partners.
• Apply AI tools to streamline status reporting, timeline tracking, and resourcing visibility.
• Maintain current project documentation and communicate progress and risks to stakeholders and leadership.
• Communicate with Chief-of-Staff on status, changes, and requests for new projects or products.
• Co‑own WorkFlo, our internal project management tool, and expand its capabilities.
• Serve as a power user of the content operating system and perform content operations when needed.
