Job summary

Barrel is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead delivery across multiple concurrent digital projects. This is not hands-on development; architecture decisions and day-to-day tech leadership belong to the Tech Lead.

The Senior PM brings Shopify fluency and enough technical grounding to ask the right questions and partner with Engineering, Design, and QA leads. This role focuses on delivery ownership, ensuring high standards, maintaining client relationships, and contributing to scalable PM

Qualifications

5-7+ years in digital project management with hands-on delivery across complex engagements.
Proven experience managing Shopify/ecommerce CMS projects from inception to launch.
Experience in a digital agency environment; ecommerce experience preferred.
Experience writing tickets, user stories, and requirements for engineering and design teams.
Experience managing scope, estimating effort, and guiding clients through change requests.

Responsibilities

Owns end-to-end delivery across multiple concurrent projects, ensuring on-time, on-budget outcomes.
Develops and shares PM templates, standards, and governance across teams.
Provides peer feedback to other PMs on complex projects or client situations.
Writes tickets, user stories, and requirements; partners with Engineering and Design to shape technical approaches.
Identifies and mitigates risks; leads recovery plans and change-order discussions as needed.
Maintains scope control and supports change requests with estimates and documentation.
Runs scrum ceremonies with engineering and design to keep sprints on track.
Translates technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
Improves PM tooling, workflows, and reporting (Jira, dashboards, etc.).
