Modern Machining Solutions Inc in Syracuse, NY is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Digital Hardware to lead the design of advanced digital hardware, FPGA-based platforms, and high-speed interfaces for DoD sensing technologies. You will design multi-layer PCBs, develop schematics, and support production.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering, 5+ years in digital hardware, experience with VHDL/Verilog on Xilinx, hands-on lab skills, and citizenship with ability to

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of digital hardware design experience.
• Experience with FPGAs, microcontrollers, memory, and high-speed interfaces.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic/spectrum/network analyzers.
• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain/maintain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of advanced digital hardware for next-generation products.
• Design multi-layer PCBs, develop schematics, and support board layout activities.
• Architect and develop FPGA solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog on Xilinx platforms.
• Perform hardware integration, testing, validation, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Design high-speed digital interfaces, data acquisition, DSP, and communication architectures.
• Develop Python and Bash scripts to automate workflows and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout product development lifecycle.
