Job summary

Frontgrade Technologies in Huntsville, AL seeks a Digital Hardware Engineer V to lead architecture, design, verification, and integration of advanced digital hardware for aerospace and defense applications.

You will mentor engineers, establish best practices, and act as a design authority across multiple programs, driving high-reliability solutions in collaboration with software and firmware teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 10+ years in a specialized functional discipline; or 14 years with no degree; or 7 years with a Masters; or 5 years with a PhD.
• Experience designing and testing digital electronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead digital hardware development from concept, architecture, schematic capture, PCB layout, verification, qualification, production release, and sustaining engineering.
• Act as the technical design authority for complex product development projects.
• Identify and resolve complex hardware issues during development and post-production.
• Work with software teams, firmware teams, manufacturing teams, and other engineers to integrate hardware and software solutions.
• Create detailed documentation for designs, testing procedures, and other relevant information.
• Optimize designs for performance, reliability, and cost.
• Mentor engineers across multiple experience levels.
• Lead Design Reviews
