Job summary

Samsung Electronics America is seeking a Senior Engineer – Digital Appliance R&D (Cooktops/ranges, MWO, Laundry, Dishwasher, Refrigerator Freezer) to advance technology sensing, monitor IP activity, and deliver patentable ideas while ensuring safety and reliability through robust testing.

You will lead research on technology trends, analyze customer requirements, evaluate implementation approaches, and coordinate with universities, agencies and partners.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of directly related experience in R&D or Advanced R&D research relating to Home Appliances.
• Ability to write, read, analyze, interpret and provide critical review of highly technical engineering research reports/papers and prepare internal/external communication.
• Experience with engineering analysis, experimental techniques and statistical analysis methods and MS Office for reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Leads and conducts research on technology trends and standards.
• Conducts high-level technical analysis of customer requirements and creates evaluation concepts and approaches.
• Identifies performance improvements and enhancements to improve the product's competitive position.
• Conducts extensive investigation to understand root causes of problems.
• Applies expertise across several subsystems and coordinates with development processes.
